1.About these terms
up mii go (“the site” or “the service”) is an Arcscribe project, owned and operated by Arcscribe Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16921982, registered office 18 Colegate, Norwich, NR3 1BQ, VAT number GB511696785.
By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. The service is free.
up mii go is an independent enthusiast community. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Volkswagen AG, SEAT S.A., Škoda Auto a.s. or any other vehicle manufacturer.
2.Who can use up mii go
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you’re under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian, and they should read these terms with you.
- You can’t use the site if we’ve previously banned you, or if using it would break the law where you are.
3.Your account
- One account per person. Give accurate details and keep your email account secure, since sign-in links are sent there.
- You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Usernames must not impersonate anyone, suggest an official connection with a manufacturer or with us, or be offensive. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks these rules.
4.Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post: text, photos, videos, audio and car details (“your content”). To run the site we need some permissions, so you give Arcscribe Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example resize or convert) and distribute your content as part of operating, improving and showing off the service.
Sounds. When you post a Rev, you also allow other members to reuse its audio as a “sound” in their own Revs on the site, credited to you.
The licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies that others have already reused within the site (such as sounds or quotes), copies in backups until they expire, and anything we need to keep to meet a legal obligation or deal with a dispute.
By posting, you confirm that:
- you own your content or have permission to post it, including any music in your videos and any photos you didn’t take;
- it doesn’t break these terms or the law, or infringe anyone else’s rights.
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright or other rights, email contact@arcscribe.co.uk with a link to it and details of your claim.
5.Community rules
You must not post or do anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages or helps someone else break the law;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone, or is hateful towards people because of who they are;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises or endangers children in any way;
- shows or promotes dangerous or illegal driving on public roads, such as street racing, stunts or excessive speed, or encourages others to do it;
- shares someone else’s personal information without their permission, including using a registration number with a location to track, expose or harass someone;
- impersonates another person or organisation, or misleads people about who you are;
- is spam, unsolicited advertising (outside the For sale & wanted forum) or a scam;
- infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property;
- contains viruses or harmful code, attempts to access accounts or data that aren’t yours, tests or bypasses our security, overloads the service, or collects data from the site by automated means without our written permission.
When posting sightings of other people’s cars, be respectful. Owners can ask us to remove photos of their car, and we’ll normally do so.
6.Cars and registration numbers
- Only add cars you own, keep or regularly drive, and only add a registration number that belongs to that car.
- Registration numbers and plate prices are private unless you choose to show them. If a registration you own is already on the register, email contact@arcscribe.co.uk and we’ll sort it out.
- The register is for enthusiasts. It isn’t an official record, and nothing on it is evidence of ownership or a vehicle’s history.
7.Buying and selling
Members can advertise cars, parts and plates in the For sale & wanted forum. Any deal is between buyer and seller. We aren’t a party to it, we don’t check listings, items or members, and we’re not responsible if a deal goes wrong.
- Sellers must describe items honestly, have the right to sell them, and follow the law, including consumer law if selling as a trader.
- Registration transfers must go through the DVLA’s official process.
- Buyers: see items in person where you can, check vehicle history, and use a payment method that protects you.
- Don’t advertise anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or unsafe for road use without saying so.
8.Reporting, moderation and appeals
Reporting. If you see content that’s illegal or breaks these terms, email contact@arcscribe.co.uk with a link to it and a short explanation. You don’t need an account to report.
What we do. We review reports as quickly as we can and prioritise anything that could cause serious harm. We may remove or hide content, lock threads, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, and we may report illegal content to the police or other authorities. We use our judgement and act proportionately; not every breach leads to a ban.
Complaints and appeals. If we’ve removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, or if you want to complain about how we handled a report, email contact@arcscribe.co.uk within 30 days. A different person from the one who made the original decision will review it where possible, and we’ll tell you the outcome.
We’re not obliged to monitor everything posted, and content on the site reflects the views of the member who posted it, not ours.
9.Our content and trade marks
The up mii go name, wordmark, design, software and our own text belong to Arcscribe Ltd or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as the site allows (for example sharing a link).
Vehicle manufacturer names and logos are trade marks of their owners. We use them only to identify the cars members own and talk about.
10.Advice from other members
Guides, how-tos and technical tips on the site are shared by members for general information. They aren’t professional advice and we don’t check them. Modifications and repairs can affect your safety, warranty, insurance, MOT and whether your car is road-legal: check with a qualified mechanic and your insurer, and tell your insurer about modifications. You act on anything you read here at your own risk.
11.Availability and changes
We work to keep the site running well, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or that content won’t be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, or the whole service, and will give reasonable notice where we can.
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop using it and close your account.
12.Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can’t be limited or excluded by law. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that:
- we’re not responsible for content posted by members, for deals between members, or for loss caused by you following advice on the site;
- we’re not liable for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses (the site is for personal, non-commercial use);
- because the service is free, our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of the site is limited to £100.
If you use the site for business purposes, or break these terms in a way that causes us loss or a claim from someone else, you’re responsible for that loss to the extent the law allows.
13.Ending your use
You can stop using the site at any time. To close your account, email contact@arcscribe.co.uk from your account’s address and we’ll delete it as described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop providing the service. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as the content licence for material already reused, and liability) survive after your account closes.
14.General
- These terms, with the privacy and cookie policies, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, for example if the site is sold, and we’ll make sure your rights aren’t reduced. You can’t transfer your account.
- Nobody else has rights under these terms (the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 doesn’t apply).
15.Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and mandatory consumer protections where you live still apply.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at contact@arcscribe.co.uk or Arcscribe Ltd, 18 Colegate, Norwich, NR3 1BQ. Most things can be sorted out quickly.
